Locking and sealing device (LSD) ”Kapkan” is used for sealing of cars and containers. It has undergone criminalistic and fire-technical examination of MIA of Ukraine.It can be fixed on the objects that have an opening for sealing with the diameter of more than 6 mm.

The device consists of body 1, cable 2 and the fixation mechanism 3, located in body 1.

There is a seven-digit number that consists of one letter, six figures and an abbreviated name of the transporter or other information.

All the information on the LSD is marked with a non-standard type.

The LSD is protected from forgeries with a number of constructive and technological solutions. The welding of the details is done using a specific technology. The device cannot be opened without visible traces and mechanical damages on the inside and outside surfaces. The steel body and cable have a protective zinc covering that provides fire safety.

Due to computer recording the enterprise according to the number of LSD can pro-vide MIA of Ukraine and the administration of the railway with the following information: when, whom, to what address and according to what document each LSD is loaded as well as the number of the car or container on which the LSD is fixed.

The recommended length for containers - 350 mm, for cars – 350 - 550 мм. The weight – not more than 0,20 kg, time for fixation – not more than 10 s.

Sealing of objects is done by hand without use of any instruments.

Removal of the LSD from the object is done with cutters, sidecutters or combined pliers. While removing the LSD from inflammable objects the cutting parts of the instru-ment should be covered with copper or heavily covered with solid oil.
