Locking and sealing device (LSD) ”Lux” is used for sealing of specialized tank cars. It has undergone criminalistic and fire-technical examination of MIA of Ukraine. It can be fixed on the objects that have an opening for sealing with the diameter of more than 3,0 mm.

The device consists of body 1, steel cable 2 and the fixation mechanism 3, located in body 1.

There is a seven-digit number that consists of one letter, six figures and an abbreviated name of the transporter (UZ) or other information.

All the information on the LSD is marked with a non-standard type.

The LSD is protected from forgeries with a number of constructive and technological solutions. It cannot be opened without visible traces of mechanical damages on the outside and inside surfaces. The steel body and cable have a protective zinc covering that provides fire safety.

Due to computer recording the enterprise according to the number of LSD can provide MIA of Ukraine and the administration of the railway with the following information: when, whom, to what address and according to what document each LSD is loaded as well as the number of the tank car on which the LSD is fixed.

The length of the cable for specialized tank cars – 450 mm, weight – not more than 0,06 kg; the breaking strength that LSD can stand – not less than 350 kgs; time for fixation – not more than 10 s.

Sealing of objects is done by hand without use of any instruments.

Removal of the LSD from the object is done with cutters, sidecutters or combined pliers. While removing the LSD from inflammable objects the cutting parts of the instrument should be covered with copper or heavily covered with solid oil.
