Locking and sealing device (LSD) is used to seal specialized railway tank-cars, vans while shipping loads to the CIS countries, to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Czechia. They are also used for sealing of customs warehouses and other objects.

The device has successfully underwent criminalistic and fire-technical examination of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Certificate No UA 1.097.0005998-09 dated 05.02.2009

The device consists of body 1, cable 2, locking mechanism 3 provided inside body 1.

Seven digit LSD number, name of LSD, brief name of railway, trade marks.

On the cover the last figure of the year of production is marked.

Trade mark of Ukrzaliznytsya, full or brief (not more than 13 signs) name of dispatch station, full or brief (not more than 13 signs) name of consignee are marked on a seal-washer.

The body is produced using die casting method. For protection of LSD from falsification a number of design and engineering solutions is embodied. It can't be opened without visible traces of mechanical injuries on exterior and interior surfaces.

Sealing of the objects is made without use of any tools. Setting time - not more than 10 sec.; mass of LSD - not more than 0,05 kg; breaking strength which the device can endure - not more than 350 kg (3,5 kN).

Owing to computer registration the enterprise will give information judging by the LSD number in a few minutes: when, to whom and at what address and according to what document each LSD was shipped.

LSDs are removed using cutting pliers, side-cutting pliers or combined rib joint pliers. For taking LSD off the fire risk objects the cutting parts of the tool should be cooper plated or abundantly covered with grease.
